About the role

The First Assistant Manager at United Dairy Farmers is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service, managing associates, performing store administration tasks, and maintaining security and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

  • Managing other Associates: Assigning and monitoring their duties, coaching The Hi Five Guest Experience, and training Shift Leaders and Guest Services Associates.
  • Providing input to the Store Manager for counseling and disciplining associates.
  • Performing screening interviews with applicants.
  • Store Administration: Ordering, reviewing weekly delivery reports, transferring products, completing paperwork as directed.
  • Overall Guest Services: Providing the signature UDF Hi Five Guest Experience, greeting guests, preparing DipSide items, operating POS system and gas console, stocking merchandise, maintaining security, and reporting accurately.

Requirements

  • Ability to speak, hear, and understand English well enough to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to see well enough to operate store equipment and use price book.
  • Ability to understand operating instructions and operate store equipment.
  • Ability to prepare DipSide items using supplies in the dip cabinets.
  • Handling coins, currency, checks, credit transactions, coupons, and food stamps, recognizing denominations, and accurately making change.
  • Recognizing numbers, counting, and doing arithmetic well enough to complete required records.
  • Preparing merchandise from storage to shelves, displays, freezers, and milk box, placing for proper display.
  • Tolerating exposure to extreme temperatures and lifting heavy objects.

Qualifications

  • Legal qualification to conduct all sales transactions including alcohol and tobacco sales.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with relevant work experience preferred.
  • Experience in retail operations, preferably in a similar role.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with POS systems and gas consoles.

Benefits

  • Quarterly bonus eligibility.

Pay

$16.00/hr - $18.50/hr plus quarterly bonus eligibility.

Schedule

Full Time (40 hours per week); four 2 shifts and one 1 shift; 2 weekends/month.
