About the role
The First Assistant Manager at United Dairy Farmers is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service and supporting the Store Manager in maintaining the safe and efficient operation of the store.
Responsibilities
- Managing other associates, including assigning and monitoring their duties, coaching The Hi Five Guest Experience, and training Shift Leaders and Guest Services Associates.
- Providing input to the Store Manager for counseling and disciplining associates.
- Performing screening interviews with applicants.
- Assisting with store administration tasks such as ordering, reviewing weekly delivery reports, transferring products, and completing paperwork as directed.
- Ensuring the delivery of the signature UDF Hi Five Guest Experience, greeting guests warmly, preparing and serving dips, managing the POS system and gas console, stocking merchandise, maintaining security, and performing routine maintenance.
- Accurately completing time records and the Customer First Document.
Requirements
- Ability to speak, hear, and understand English well enough to communicate effectively with guests.
- Ability to see well enough to operate store equipment and use price books.
- Ability to understand and operate store equipment, including POS terminals and gas consoles.
- Ability to prepare DipSide items using supplies in the dip cabinets.
- Ability to handle various forms of payment and make change.
- Ability to recognize and perform basic arithmetic operations.
- Ability to move and stack merchandise.
- Ability to work in extreme temperature conditions.
- Physical ability to lift and place packages.
Qualifications
Applicants must be legally qualified to conduct all sales transactions, including alcohol and tobacco sales, as required by applicable state laws.
Skills
Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.

Quarterly bonus eligibility is available.
Pay
$16.00/hr - $18.50/hr plus quarterly bonus eligibility.
Schedule
Full-time (40 hours per week); four 2-hour shifts and one 1-hour shift; 2 weekends/month.
