Job description: Job Summary As an AWS Platform Lead, you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, governance, security, and operational management of enterprise AWS cloud platforms. You will provide technical leadership for cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, automation, DevOps, observability, and cloud-native services while ensuring scalable, secure, and highly available solutions. The role requires close collaboration with architects, application teams, security teams, and business stakeholders to drive cloud transformation initiatives and operational excellence across the AWS ecosystem. Key Responsibilities Lead the design, implementation, and support of enterprise AWS cloud platforms and shared services.Define cloud architecture standards, governance frameworks, automation strategies, and operational best practices.Manage AWS platform services including networking, compute, storage, security, monitoring, and disaster recovery.Drive cloud adoption, modernization, and migration initiatives across applications and business units.Establish and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) capabilities using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.Lead platform automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency, scalability, and reliability.Oversee platform security, compliance, identity management, and cloud governance controls.Collaborate with application teams to support cloud-native architectures, microservices, and containerized workloads.Ensure platform observability through monitoring, logging, alerting, and performance management solutions.Lead incident management, problem management, root cause analysis, and service improvement initiatives.Manage platform upgrades, capacity planning, cost optimization, and operational readiness reviews.Mentor and guide cloud engineers, DevOps engineers, and platform administrators.Work with stakeholders to define cloud roadmaps and align platform capabilities with business objectives. Cloud Security & Governance Experience implementing: IAM Identity Federation Secrets Manager KMS Security Hub GuardDuty AWS Config CloudTrail Knowledge of cloud governance, compliance, risk management, and security best practices. Experience supporting regulated environments and audit requirements. Infrastructure Automation & DevOps Strong expertise in: Terraform CloudFormation Ansible GitHub Actions Jenkins AWS CodePipeline AWS CodeBuild Experience implementing CI/CD and platform automation. Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and GitOps methodologies. Containers & Cloud-Native Technologies Experience with: Docker Kubernetes AWS EKS Microservices Architectures API Management Platforms Familiarity with cloud-native design and scalability patterns. Monitoring & Reliability Engineering Experience using: CloudWatch Dynatrace Grafana Prometheus Splunk OpenTelemetry Strong knowledge of platform monitoring, alerting, reliability engineering, and performance management. Networking & Infrastructure Strong understanding of: TCP/IP DNS VPN Load Balancing Network Security Hybrid Connectivity Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Other Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. 8+ years of IT experience with at least 4+ years in AWS Platform Engineering, Cloud Operations, or Cloud Architecture. Proven experience leading cloud platform teams and enterprise cloud initiatives. Strong stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills. Experience managing production-critical cloud environments and operational governance. Deep understanding of ITIL, Service Management, and Operational Excellence practices. Experience working in Agile, DevOps, and Platform Engineering environments. Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimization strategies.AWS certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional, AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, or AWS Advanced Networking Specialty are highly preferred. Exposure to AI/ML platforms, Amazon Bedrock, Generative AI services, and cloud modernization initiatives is an added advantage. Experience in Healthcare, Life Sciences, Manufacturing, Financial Services, or other regulated industries is preferred. Compensation and BenefitsA candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their work location, skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
