Examples of Duties

• Controls & extinguishes fires
• Protects life & property
• Maintains all fire equipment
• Receives & responds to fire alarms & other emergency calls
• Performs fire inspections & pre-fire planning
• Minor vehicle & equipment maintenance
• Other related tasks as assigned

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• NFPA Firefighter I certification
• IFSAC and/or Pro-board Infection Control Haz-Mat op’s6
• Medical first responder or South Carolina EMT
• Basic Vehicle Extrication ICS 100, 200 and 700
• Certified Fire Academy Transcript

Qualifications
