Fire & Water Disaster Restoration Technician

Responsibilities

• Assessing damaged properties to see what can be saved
• Cleaning and storing damaged contents until they can be returned to the home
• Removing and replacing damaged materials, such as wallboards, lumber, and carpets
• Handling any issues caused by fire or water damage, including drying out the area and removing mold
• Sanitizing structural features that can be saved
• Communicating in-person with homeowners, explaining job specifications, and performing other customer service duties
• Adhering to personal safety standards by wearing the appropriate protective gear and using the right equipment

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
• Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
• Strong problem solving and customer service skills
• Ability to prioritize activities and meet deadlines
• Ability to read and follow product label usage instructions

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• Move up to 70 pounds often, by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects
• Stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Lifting, squatting, crawling and crouching is required
• Respirators, which are used in certain situations, must be able to seal to your face
• Ability to work Inside and Outside, such as with or without air conditioning and heating

Pay

Salary depends on experience. Salary range listed is for entry-level applicants.

Schedule

A typical work-week is eight (8) hour workdays, five (5) days per week with some weekend and on-call work as needed.
