About the role
The Fire Technician coordinates all fire and emergency activities for the MDF Boards Plant and ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Responsibilities
- Develops, communicates, and maintains a simple but effective fire safety program that meets regulated standards.
- Coordinates all fire and emergency activities for the MDF Boards Plant.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- On-call 24/7 for emergencies, equipment failure, and alarms.
Requirements
- Intermediate to advanced experience with electrical / mechanical maintenance and repair procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of associates.
- Excellent attendance record.
- Demonstrated high energy level, strong work ethic, and positive approach to problem solving.
- The ability to write and communicate Standard Operating Procedures.
- The ability to use power tools, measuring devices, and other hand tools.
- The ability to read and comprehend complex data including mechanical, electrical, and piping drawings and schematics.
- The ability to work with others in identifying and solving complex manufacturing problems.
- The ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision.
- The ability to work at heights exceeding 60 feet with the aid of man lifts and/or ladders/platforms.
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
- The ability to be on call 24/7 and on holidays as required.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of firefighting procedures and fire inspections.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in industrial maintenance, electrical, electronics or related field OR equivalent experience.
