Fire Sprinkler Service Technician (union)

About the role

Receive service calls from the Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions. Contact customer representatives to ascertain equipment/systems problems. Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial and industrial applications, including but not limited to wet (steel, copper, and CPVC), dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pumps.

Responsibilities

• Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices, bulletins, and modification notices to diagnose and repair equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
• Demonstrate a high level of customer service, with strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
• Adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
• Perform physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs.
• Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high-lift equipment up to 60 feet, or within ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.

Requirements

• 2+ years of documented experience in the Fire Sprinkler industry performing service and repair on Sprinkler and Suppression systems.
• Retain any licenses required by National, State, and Local codes.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• NICET Level II certification is a plus.

Pay

Hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet.
