Responsibilities
- Create all plans, blueprints, design drawings, submittal documents, and calculations for projects in Northern California and surrounding areas.
- Obtain permits and submit all required documents to jurisdictional authorities and general contractors.
- Coordinate with field teams on installations and service.
- Communicate timelines to customers and contractors.
- Order materials and parts for field installations.
- Utilize familiarity with fire life safety code to support sales, service, and field teams.
- Proactively follow up on submittals and approvals to maintain project schedules.
- Some travel may be necessary.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience designing in the Fire Life Safety Industry.
- Understanding of Fire Life Safety Code (NFPA, CFC, IBC, IFC).
- NICET Certifications a plus.
- Ability to perform calculations on fire sprinkler designs.
- Experience comprehending specifications, contract drawings, bid set plans, and others.
- Experience coordinating field employees to follow plans.
- MEP CAD suite (Autosprink, AlarmCAD) a strong plus.
- HydraCAD experience a plus.
- Proficient with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to follow direction, complete assigned tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and see projects through from start to finish.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, team player, self-motivated, and client-driven with a focus on customer service.
- Sales and design-bid experience a plus.
