About the role
A Fire Sprinkler Designer uses computer-aided design (CAD) to create detailed drawings and layouts, calculate dimensions and material requirements, and assist in developing functional, well-designed fire sprinkler systems by translating design concepts into accurate technical plans.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed designs of fire sprinkler systems using specialized CAD software based on the AutoCAD platform.
- Coordinate sprinkler system piping with other building components.
- Perform hydraulic calculations.
- Read and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Interpret and apply applicable NFPA standards to the design and/or layout of sprinkler systems based on building type, construction type, hazard classifications, and architectural features.
- Communicate with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), contractors, and other trades.
- Coordinate with team members for listing required materials.
- Coordinate with team members for permitting and inspection requirements.
- Actively participate in predesign and review meetings.
- Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures and quality improvement.
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures to ensure all duties are performed safely and professionally.
- Provide outstanding customer service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Pay
Pay range: $77,000 – $115,000 annually. The posted salary range reflects the anticipated hiring range and is based on job-related factors including qualifications, experience, skills, education, internal equity, geographic location, and market considerations. Actual starting pay will be determined within this range. The posted range reflects base salary only and does not include bonuses, commissions, overtime, or employee benefits.
