About the role
We’re seeking a detail-driven Fire Sprinkler Designer / CAD Drafter to support our growing Fire Protection division. In this role, you’ll design code-compliant fire sprinkler systems, prepare accurate project drawings, and collaborate closely with project managers to ensure every system meets NFPA standards and customer expectations. This position is ideal for a technically skilled designer who takes pride in precision and wants long-term growth in a stable, safety-driven company.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare project drawings, specifications, and schematics using AutoCAD and related CAD platforms.
- Design layouts, perform field checks, create fabrication listings, material and equipment submittals, and calculations.
- Ensure all designs comply with NFPA standards and applicable Federal, State, and local codes.
- Support Fire Protection and Low Voltage projects across multiple job types.
- Collaborate with project managers to maintain scope, timelines, and compliance requirements.
- Produce close-out documentation and as-built drawings.
- Interact professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers.
- Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for documentation and communication.
- Maintain accuracy, organization, and efficiency across multiple active projects.
- Perform all work in alignment with State Systems’ mission of protecting life and property.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of Fire Sprinkler / Life Safety design experience (HydraCAD or SprinkCAD a plus).
- 2+ years of experience using Windows-based AutoCAD design software.
- Strong understanding of commonly used design concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work seated at a desk for a standard eight-hour workday.

Pay & Schedule
- Compensation: Based on education, experience, and credentials
- Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday | 8-hour shifts
- Payment Frequency: Biweekly
- Supplemental Pay: Referral Bonus
