Responsibilities
- Works under direct supervision and demonstrates safe work habits and proper care of tools and equipment.
- Assists with materials handling, installation of materials, devices, and equipment.
- Identifies and eliminates hazardous conditions at the job site.
- Maintains the job site in a safe, neat, and orderly condition.
- Handles and stages materials, equipment, and tools.
- Assists with sprinkler system layout and installation.
- May be required to operate heavy equipment.
- Operates cutting and threading machine (Rigid 300).
- Assists with cable tray installations, device installations, and lighting connections.
- Receives on-the-job learning (OJL) as part of the apprenticeship program.
- Attends class and makes satisfactory progress toward apprenticeship program completion.
- Safely operates hand and power tools.
- Reads and interprets instructions, sprinkler drawings, and manuals.
- Maintains a positive safety attitude and personal integrity.
- Legally operates company vehicles and equipment.
Working Conditions
- Works in all weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, etc.).
- Must keep work tools (tape measure, channel lock pliers, level, etc.) with them at all times.
- Uses all types of ladders, including step ladders up to 14 feet, “A” frame, and extension ladders, and relocates a 12-foot ladder independently.
- Performs work at various heights, up to 90 feet, from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, and catwalks, and works in restricted areas.
- Wears protective personal equipment (PPE).
Requirements
- Minimum age of 18.
- Provides I-9 documents to establish work eligibility.
- Evidence of High School Diploma or GED; high school transcript may be required.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- DD 214 (if veteran).
Physical Requirements
- Must successfully pass a drug test, physical, and background check.
- Able to bend, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead.
- Able to work at least 40-hour weeks, overtime, and night shifts as needed.
- Lifts at least 50 pounds.
- Constantly moving on your feet.
- Climbs ladders of all types.
