Fire Extinguisher Technician Helper

As a Fire Extinguisher Technician Helper, you will assist the Kitchen Systems/Extinguisher Technician with the inspection, testing, servicing, and/or installation of portable fire extinguishers, kitchen suppression systems, and other fire safety equipment, including emergency lights, all in accordance with applicable fire codes.

Responsibilities

• Ride and travel to job sites with the assigned Technician.
• Assist in the inspection and repair of:
  • Fire extinguishers in accordance with NFPA 10.
  • Kitchen extinguishing systems (NFPA 17-17A and UL 300 pre-engineered restaurant fire suppression systems) manufactured by ANSUL, Pyro Chem, RangeGuard, Kidde, Piranha, etc.
• Develop a thorough understanding of NFPA, manufacturer, and local fire codes for restaurant fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers.
• Perform on-site emergency troubleshooting of fire suppression systems.
• Identify NFPA code and non-conformance issues.
• Work flexible schedules to accommodate testing schedules.
• Prepare accurate and timely inspection reports with customer signatures, ensuring excellent attention to detail, and submit them daily.
• Communicate professionally and provide excellent customer service.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

• Working knowledge of safety and hazardous material standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Consent to a background check upon acceptance of the offer letter.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with fire extinguishers or related fire safety equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages.
