Fire Equipment Service Worker

About This Position

The Phoenix Fire Department is dedicated to providing top-tier public safety services to the community. They focus on fire suppression, emergency medical and transportation services, disaster relief, fire prevention, and public education.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and rebuild firefighting support equipment such as SCBA, protective clothing, hoses, engines, saws, motors, pumps, ladders, and electronic devices.
• Assist in maintaining supplies and equipment for training purposes.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Two years of skilled experience in the repair and maintenance of breathing air equipment, hand ladders, small engines, protective clothing, and motor.
• Completion of the City of Phoenix Fire Equipment Service Worker Trainee Program.
• Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two or more years of experience in inventory control.
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding self-contained breathing apparatus, oxygen regulators, Laerdal suction units, and CPR machines.
• Experience performing basic routine checks of a vehicle (such as tires, fluid leaks, and warning signs).
