About the role
Performs daily maintenance of the university fire alarm system. This position researches, works on, or has access to critical infrastructure and requires the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the University infrastructure. Personnel in this role are routinely reviewed to determine whether criminal history or continuous connections to the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the employee from maintaining the security or integrity of the infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, inspect, and service fire alarm systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all fire alarm systems.
- Troubleshoot problems and repair fire alarm systems.
- Install and relocate devices on campus due to building remodeling.
- Participate in fire alarm testing.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- Department is willing to accept education in lieu of experience.
- Requires specialized training in basic trades, principles, procedures, practice, routines, or techniques in a specific area or trade, typically acquired through up to 18 months of education or training beyond the high school level.
- Vocational competence in the operation of mechanical or electronic equipment may be required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
- Education verification will be conducted upon acceptance of an employment offer.
