Key Responsibilities
- Install, test, and commission fire alarm systems in new and existing buildings
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on fire alarm equipment
- Diagnose and repair faults or malfunctions in fire alarm systems
- Ensure all fire alarm systems comply with local codes, standards, and safety regulations
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and system modifications
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and safety personnel to coordinate system installations and upgrades
- Stay updated on the latest fire safety regulations and technological advancements
Skills And Qualifications
- Proven experience as a fire alarm technician or in a similar role
- Knowledge of fire alarm system components, wiring, and troubleshooting techniques
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, local fire safety regulations)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed
- Relevant certifications or licenses (e NICET certification, fire alarm technician license) are preferred
Requirements
- Must have FAL license and be able to troubleshoot fire alarm and security systems
- Must have good communication and customer service skills
- Must be able to perform duties related to systems and troubleshooting, particularly for fire alarm systems
