Fire Alarm Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Install, test, and commission fire alarm systems in new and existing buildings
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on fire alarm equipment
• Diagnose and repair faults or malfunctions in fire alarm systems
• Ensure all fire alarm systems comply with local codes, standards, and safety regulations
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and system modifications
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and safety personnel to coordinate system installations and upgrades
• Stay updated on the latest fire safety regulations and technological advancements

Skills And Qualifications

• Proven experience as a fire alarm technician or in a similar role
• Knowledge of fire alarm system components, wiring, and troubleshooting techniques
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, local fire safety regulations)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed
• Relevant certifications or licenses (e NICET certification, fire alarm technician license) are preferred

Requirements

• Must have FAL license and be able to troubleshoot fire alarm and security systems
• Must have good communication and customer service skills
• Must be able to perform duties related to systems and troubleshooting, particularly for fire alarm systems
