About the role

This role is responsible for servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing fire alarm systems to ensure systems operate safely and in compliance with applicable codes and standards. Technicians work directly with customers to diagnose issues, complete inspections, and ensure systems meet NFPA and local regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems and associated devices
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctioning systems, panels, wiring, and components
  • Repair or replace defective system components
  • Install and program fire alarm systems when required
  • Respond to service calls and emergency repair requests
  • Ensure systems meet applicable codes and compliance requirements
  • Document service activities and generate inspection reports
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding system performance and recommendations
  • Maintain company tools, vehicles, and equipment in safe working condition

Requirements

  • 1–3+ years of experience in fire alarm systems, electrical work, low voltage, or related field
  • Working knowledge of fire alarm panels, electrical circuits, and troubleshooting techniques
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
  • NICET certification (Level I or II) preferred but not required
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in mechanical spaces

Pay

$28 - $40 per hour
