Fire Alarm Panel Specialist

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an opportunity for a Fire Alarm Panel Specialist supporting TOS II at Arnold AFB, Tennessee. The selected candidate will work as part of an integrated team responsible for operating and maintaining United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts. Open to internal and external candidates. Shift determination will be based on work priorities at the time of hire.

About the role

The successful candidate will install, inspect, and maintain fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with safety codes and correct functionality.

Responsibilities

• Run wires, mount sensors and detectors, install control panels, and ensure all components are properly connected according to blueprints
• Configure and program fire alarm panels and systems to meet specific building requirements
• Use specialized equipment to test system functionality and identify issues
• Conduct routine checks to verify all components—such as smoke detectors, sirens, and control panels—are working correctly
• Diagnose malfunctions, troubleshoot system issues, and perform necessary repairs
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning devices and replacing batteries
• Respond to emergency service calls to troubleshoot and fix alarms and system issues
• Isolate suppression systems for outages
• Use hand tools, portable power tools, and standard measuring instruments
• Inspect, test, and maintain suppression systems in accordance with UFC 3-601-2
• Operate Government motor vehicles and/or other equipment
• Ensure all work adheres to federal, state, and local fire safety codes, including NFPA standards
• Keep accurate records of all installations, inspections, and repairs
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by company policy
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements

• High school education with five years’ experience and knowledge of electrical equipment, circuits, and electronic components related to alarm systems
• NICET Certification (Level I) or ability to obtain Level I Certification within six months of hire date and maintain certification
• NICET Certification (Level II) or ability to obtain Level II Certification within two years of hire date and maintain certification
• Familiarity with various types of sprinkler systems
• Proficiency in basic mathematical functions
• Extensive knowledge of applicable codes and standards
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance and access to the AEDC local area network
• Current U.S. citizenship

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $40.37 - $44.86
