Fire Alarm/Low Voltage Installer

About the role

The Fire Alarm/Low Voltage Installer will be responsible for installing and maintaining various systems, including fire alarms, voice/data, and security systems. They will also install commercial and industrial 3-phase electrical power systems, electrical conduit, and troubleshoot circuit issues.

Responsibilities

• Install fire alarm, voice/data, and security systems
• Install commercial & industrial 3-phase electrical power systems
• Install all types of electrical conduit
• Troubleshoot circuit opens, shorts, or ground conditions
• Complete paperwork, including timesheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation
• Keep as-built drawings current
• Comply with industry and Sciens safety programs/policies

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 to 3 years’ experience as a Fire Alarm/LV Installer
• Solid working knowledge of commercial electrical systems
• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and diagrams and follow specifications
• State and locally required minimum certifications
• Intermediate knowledge of NFPA 70 and NFPA 72 installation requirements
• Able to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency
• Able to work independently with some supervision
• Good organizational, decision-making, and communication skills
• Physically fit to perform demanding work, including frequent lifting up to 25 pounds, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; able to work from heights and climb ladders; standing and walking for most of the workday
• Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation
