About the role
The Fire Alarm/Low Voltage Installer will be responsible for installing and maintaining various systems, including fire alarms, voice/data, and security systems. They will also install commercial and industrial 3-phase electrical power systems, electrical conduit, and troubleshoot circuit issues.
Responsibilities
- Install fire alarm, voice/data, and security systems
- Install commercial & industrial 3-phase electrical power systems
- Install all types of electrical conduit
- Troubleshoot circuit opens, shorts, or ground conditions
- Complete paperwork, including timesheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation
- Keep as-built drawings current
- Comply with industry and Sciens safety programs/policies
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 to 3 years’ experience as a Fire Alarm/LV Installer
- Solid working knowledge of commercial electrical systems
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and diagrams and follow specifications
- State and locally required minimum certifications
- Intermediate knowledge of NFPA 70 and NFPA 72 installation requirements
- Able to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency
- Able to work independently with some supervision
- Good organizational, decision-making, and communication skills
- Physically fit to perform demanding work, including frequent lifting up to 25 pounds, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; able to work from heights and climb ladders; standing and walking for most of the workday
- Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation
