Global Power Components is a privately held, financially sound, growing manufacturer of UL steel and heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures, and modular metal enclosures for housing fully equipped electrical distribution and control equipment.

Description

Due to company growth, we are seeking a Quality Technician for day-to-day inspection, documenting quality issues per our process and presenting data in a statistical format. A qualified candidate must be able to interpret Engineering Blueprints, as every aspect of inspecting our product relies on the blueprints to ensure accuracy.

Breakdown of daily activities (approximately):

• 30% Part inspection (on manufacturing floor)
• 50% Assembly inspection (on manufacturing floor)
• 20% Processing and analysis of data

Candidates should be aware that the majority of their time will be spent on the manufacturing floor.

Responsibilities

• Inspection and documentation of parts and assemblies.
• Turn collected data into reports used to develop training and/or process improvement strategies.
• Secondary tasks such as discussing issues with engineers, calling vendors, updating SOPs, or addressing out‑of‑the‑ordinary issues.

Requirements

• Ability to follow directions and follow through in a timely, accurate manner.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel (write reports in Word, create and use spreadsheets in Excel for analysis).
• Basic math skills, including fractions and decimals.
• Strong ability in blueprint reading.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure.
• Mechanical ability/aptitude.
• Prior experience using Pareto Charts preferred.
• Prior experience in quality assurance preferred.
• Engineering Technician experience very helpful.
• Pre‑employment test to determine aptitude in these areas.

Schedule

• 1st Shift: 5am – 1:30pm CT (Monday to Friday) – eligible for overtime.
• 2nd Shift: 4pm – 12:30am CT (Monday to Friday) – eligible for overtime.
