Petoskey Plastics seeks a Finished Product Packer to join our team. Located in Petoskey, this position leverages advanced recycling technology to manufacture high-quality films, bags, and resins from post-consumer materials. Responsibilities
- Moves finished plastic product safely from end of line into correct packaging and place on skid.
- Verifies with the work order that the skids are the pallet patterns meet customer specifications.
- Communicates with the line operator if the finished goods do not meet work order requirements.
- Maintains good housekeeping practices on assigned lines.
- Works safely while adhering to established safety procedures.
- Complies with Quality Management Systems by following established procedures, performing quality checks, and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Maintains excellent standards for housekeeping by keeping equipment and surrounding workspace clean and organized.
- Aids Line Operators during job changes and PMs.
- Transfers between lines as production requires.
- Collaborates with Material Handlers to ensure proper packaging materials are used and available according to customer expectations.
- Packages plastic product according to customer specification.
- Ensures correct counts and amounts of product are in packaging.
- Maintains paperwork as required.
- Cuts, bales, weighs, and records scrap as required by facility.
- Loads cores into machine hoppers.
- Communicates with line operators or shift supervisors regarding quality concerns.
- Breaks relief for other associates assigned to other lines as directed.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to read work procedures in English.
- Good communication skills.
- Commitment to safety and quality.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Proven track record of excellent attendance.
- Ability to read a measuring tape.
