At Utz Quality Foods, the Kings Mountain, NC manufacturing facility is expanding and seeking a dedicated Finished Goods Handler. This hands‑on role involves material handling, forklift operation, and supporting packaging operations to ensure smooth and efficient production processes.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect forklifts and report any damage or faulty equipment to the supervisor.
  • Support production with raw materials and assist with finished goods rotation as needed.
  • Transport non‑conforming goods and materials to the Hold area for quality disposition.
  • Ensure raw ingredients are not mixed with finished goods.
  • Transport allergen raw materials to the correct storage racks isolated from other raw materials.
  • Place finished‑good allergens (completed and overrun) in their designated spots in the plant.
  • Label, cover, and weigh all unused portions of allergen raw materials, corrugate, and finished‑good overrun before returning them to their designated area.
  • Lead by example in following GMPs, OSHA safety, and all other procedures.
  • Provide production with correct packaging materials, pallets, ingredients, and film.
  • Wrap, tag, and transport finished goods from the production area to the designated staging location.
  • Use FEFO (First Expired First Out) when pulling raw materials from storage to production lines.
  • Use FIFO (First In First Out) when storing finished product.
  • Wrap, cover, and remove packaging or ingredients from the line after a run or a changeover.
  • Place raw materials in a designated staging area for review by the shift supervisor prior to returning to stock.
  • Check the overrun area before each new run to see if product can be re‑wrapped.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices, including consolidating locations when applicable.
  • Adhere to UTZ’s allergen control program and avoid cross‑contamination.
  • Properly handle, store, and distribute raw materials, finished goods, allergens, and identity‑claimed materials.
  • Adhere to all UTZ programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Basic math and reading skills.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a forklift license.
  • Knowledge of product quality and basic operations acquired through three months of training.
  • Ability to communicate production issues to co‑workers and supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to satisfy all production requirements.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and cleanliness.
  • Ability to work proactively within a diverse, cross‑functional team.
  • Flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Schedule

Rotating schedule: Friday to Sunday and Thursday to Sunday, 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM.
