About the role

Prepares weldments for the powder coat paint system by grinding, sanding, or polishing imperfections from the welding or fabrication process.

Responsibilities

• Inspects weldments for obvious defects such as weld spatter, rough welds, missing welds, and sharp corners/edges.
• Grinds, sands, or polishes weldments in preparation for powder coat painting.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Fluent in English and the primary language used in the area of responsibility and/or location.
• High school diploma.
• 1 year of experience preferred.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Moderate physical demand; often lifting/moving average weight (25 to 50 lbs/11-27 kgs), and occasionally lifting heavy weight materials (up to 70 lbs).
• Ability to stand and/or walk constantly over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
• Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling, and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
