Job Responsibilities
- Operate wheel hoe and other heavy or grading equipment to complete grading and fine grading tasks.
- Operate a Wheel Hoe to complete all required operation tasks.
- Able to operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency and in challenging and unique terrain environments.
- Backfill and finish grade to specifications in tight, hard to reach areas, and near utilities & curbing.
- Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.
- Perform daily pre-and post-inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
- Effective communication skills applicable to position.
- Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in finish grading required!
- Experienced working with GPS control preferred.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and nights when necessary.
- Team player.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Distinguish and understand signals.
- Read and understand grade stakes.
- Use both hands and feet at the same time.
- Work in an environment with noise levels that may require hearing protection.
- Able to use mechanic’s hand tools and tape measure.
- Able to crawl and climb on, over, under and inside construction equipment.
- Lift and carry objects and materials of various weights up to 100 pounds.
- Good vision, both close-up and long-distance, and ability to look forward, side to side, and toward the rear of equipment.
- Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration requirement.
- Must be Drug Free and able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Able to use a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
