Established in 1908, RGI is the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States. This role is located in the Huntsville, AL area, reporting to the Area Construction Manager.
About the role
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout existing operations and additional operations through growth.
Responsibilities
- Operate a Track Hoe to complete all required operation tasks.
- Operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency in challenging and unique terrain environments.
- Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.
- Perform daily pre- and post-inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills applicable to the position.
- Properly follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA/Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
- Maintain an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in a track hoe as a finish grade operator is required.
- Must be able to read commercial grade.
- Ability to utilize GPS for grading applications is preferred.
- Previous experience operating other pieces of heavy construction equipment is preferred.
- Ability to distinguish and understand signals.
- Ability to read and understand grade and maintain grade.
- Ability to use both hands and feet simultaneously.
- Ability to work in an environment with noise levels that may require hearing protection.
- Must be able to hear and understand commands from supervisors, warnings from fellow workers, and alarms on equipment.
- Ability to crawl and climb on, over, under, and inside construction equipment.
- Lift and carry objects and materials of various weights up to 70 pounds.
- Good vision, both close-up and long-distance, and ability to look forward, side to side, and toward the rear of equipment.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Self-motivated individual—must be able to perform required duties independently, without constant supervision.
- Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed.
- Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate exposure to loud noises.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
