About the role

The Finish Carpenter / Construction Technician supports on-site construction activities for construction projects, maintenance tasks, and property improvement work across the company’s construction portfolio. This role assists the Superintendent and Project Manager with general labor, site preparation, material handling, finish carpentry installation, and basic construction tasks to maintain safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, clean, and maintain construction sites, ensuring safe and organized work areas.
  • Aid in demolition, debris removal, and preparation of spaces for construction activities.
  • Handle tools, equipment, and materials, ensuring proper storage and care.
  • Perform finish carpentry installation work including interior doors, base, casing, windowsills, and cabinets while maintaining production schedules and quality standards.
  • Execute basic construction tasks such as framing support, installing temporary protections, or equipment staging under supervision.
  • Load, unload, and transport materials and supplies across the job site.
  • Assist trades and subcontractors by preparing work areas and moving tools or materials.
  • Operate hand tools and light equipment as trained and authorized.
  • Install door hardware and perform adjustments to both interior and exterior doors.
  • Install glass shower doors, closet shelving, and restroom accessories.
  • Support punch list completion and final detail work as assigned.
  • Follow all site safety rules, PPE requirements, and company protocols.
  • Report hazards or unsafe conditions to the Superintendent immediately.
  • Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of construction or maintenance experience required.
  • Finish carpentry installation experience preferred, including knowledge of installation and production scheduling for interior doors, base, casing, windowsills, and cabinets.
  • Experience installing door hardware and adjusting interior and exterior doors required.
  • Experience installing glass shower doors, closet shelving, and restroom accessories preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
  • Basic understanding of construction tools, equipment, and safety practices.
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and develop new skills.
  • Dependable, punctual, and safety conscious.
  • Ability to work outdoors or on active construction sites, including standing, climbing, bending, and carrying equipment.

Decision Making Authority

The Finish Carpenter / Construction Technician exercises limited independent judgment related to routine tasks such as site cleanup, material handling, tool operation, and assisting trades. The Finish Carpenter / Construction Technician is responsible for identifying and reporting hazards, following safety requirements, and completing assigned duties efficiently. Decisions involving construction methods, sequencing, changes in scope, or any deviation from assigned work must be directed to and approved by the Project Manager.
