Responsibilities
- Welcome guests with a warm smile at your designated area!
- Take the opportunity to engage them and, when the moment calls for it, gather their entree orders with enthusiasm.
- Ensure that every interaction is filled with inviting communication and a sprinkle of excitement!
- Inform guests of any specials and has a thorough understanding of the beverage and food menu to answer any questions the guest may have.
- Monitor tables closely and be attentive to guests’ needs
- Clear empty plates and glasses from tables and place quickly in bus carts
- Prepare silverware neatly and quickly at table.
- Clean area when finished preparing.
- Ensure Guests' order is accurately recorded in a timely manner.
- Deliver food to guests within and outside of your section.
- Check back with guests, provide refills and pre-bus throughout the guest experience.
- Responsible for complete set up, stocking and service of assigned area.
- Areas assigned should be neat, clean and organized at all times.
- Follows all established uniform guidelines and appearance standards.
- Assists in all aspects of operation when necessary.
- Acts as a role model and presents oneself as a credit to Harrah’s and encourages others to do the same.
- Immediately notify management of incidents involving possible excessive alcohol consumption or an impaired condition.
- Process guest checks and payments in compliance with cash handling, credit card and accounting policies and procedures
- Adheres to all department and company policies and procedures.
- Performs all related duties as assigned.
- Must be punctual, have good work ethics, and be a reliable person with a can-do positive attitude.
- Must be flexible with schedule to work holidays and weekends.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Deep understanding of wine pairings and to offer thoughtful drink suggestions that complement various dishes and occasions.
- Must be able to stand for entire shift.
- Working in a restaurant environment, such as a steakhouse or fine dining establishment, is required.
- Knowledge of wines, drinks, recipes, and garnishes.
- Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.
- Ability to perform basic/intermediate math skills.
- Ability to operate point of sale systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with guests, staff and management.
- Must be able to work individually and as part of a team in collaboration with others.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Availability must include evenings, holidays, and weekends.
Additional Requirements
- Neat and clean appearance are expected at all times.
- Must be able to work in areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry objects weighting up to 50 lbs.
- Position requires 100% standing, 100% walking.
- Requires frequent bending, pushing, twisting, kneeling, climbing, stooping and reaching overhead.
- Must be able to respond to touch, speech, smell, aural and visual cues.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment involving constant internal and external customer contact.
Pay & Benefits
$9.00 per hour.
Employment Type – Part Time
Shift Details Swing Shift: 3:00 pm -11:30 pm (Thursday – Sunday)
