About the role
The Financial Systems Specialist plays a crucial role on the financial systems team, driving the digital transformation of various financial functions to achieve the vision of the Controllership being the most respected in the nation.
Responsibilities
- Develop proficient knowledge of ACA’s Workday Implementation (Financials Core, Prism, Reporting, Accounting Center and Adaptive Planning)
- Construct clear and detailed business requirements for IT development and Finance Systems teams
- Provide day-to-day support with business users of the Financial Systems Platform
- Knowledgeable of ACA’s data warehouse and ACA’s processes
- Resolve any data-related issues found, including obtaining clarification from the relevant Controllership team owners, and correct data issues and/or develop alternate solutions
- Configure/Test/Implement configuration changes in Financial Systems
- Design/Develop/Test/Implement modifications to Integration programs as needed
- Lead small projects using Agile methodology
- Examine sources of data through interviews and analysis
- Partner with business teams to update policies and procedures
- Curate supporting documentation to ensure information is clearly shared and consumable by business users and units
- Able to work within given deadlines to produce a high-quality data product with an emphasis on completeness and accuracy
- Identify and escalate any data integrity concerns and participate in remediation projects as required
- Collaborate with 3rd Party Vendors
- Other tasks as deemed necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with minimum 3.0 GPA in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Proficient skills in database systems (SQL) and financial systems (Power BI)
- Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles
- Self-motivated, team player, highly organized
- Attention to detail and accuracy of facts and documentation
- Ability to problem-solve and ability to follow through on tasks
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Customer-service oriented
- Strong sense of partnership and works well with cross-functional teams
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
- Excited & motivated to learn new technologies
- Ability to explain technical concepts and analysis clearly to a wide variety of audiences
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as internet navigation
- Consistently displays the Guiding Principles
- Work closely with IT and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of changes and enhancements within Financial Systems

Skills
- Blended education in both financial services and information systems
- Experience with day-to-day usage in Workday for and not limited to: Job Change templates, Creating positions, Managing Delegations, Business process approvals, corrections, and re-routing, Supervisory Orgs, Locations, Integrations of data from third party Vendors and or Bank, Creations of Spend Categories and General Ledger Accounts, Strong troubleshooting skills: Able to review reported issues and identify root causes within the system using in-house trouble shooting documentation, Recruiting process knowledge (Business Processes, posting issues, approval routing), Some IT and financials systems experience
