Position Summary

This position is responsible for general supervision, planning, coordination and evaluation of all business activities of Southeast Regional Care Center for Youth (SERC) and all other youth centers within the division. Responsibilities include cash management, accounting, Youth in our care account supervision, purchasing, control of the institution’s capital assets and equipment, stores inventories, and supervision of staff assigned to the Business Office.

Salary Information

This position is in pay schedule and range 81-04 with a starting pay of $29.00/hour - $37.17/hour. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period is required.

Job Details

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.

Qualifications

  • Minimally qualified applicants will have experience:
    • Monitoring and auditing financial transactions to ensure accuracy (e.g., Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, purchasing activities, cash management, bank accounts, general accounting recordkeeping)
    • Creating and maintaining financial reports and databases with various software (e.g., Excel, PeopleSoft).
  • In addition to the above, well qualified applicant will have experience:
    • Formally supervising the work of other staff (e.g., hiring, performance evaluations, discipline, dismissal, settling grievances)
    • Performing budget management (e.g., analysis of expenditures, forecast analysis)
    • Performing inventory control activities (e.g., maintaining records, performing audits, reconciling discrepancies)
