Financial Specialist III
The Department of Motor Vehicles seeks a Financial Specialist III with a focus on accounts receivable processing. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and effective communication skills. Key responsibilities include:
- Processing daily accounts receivable transactions
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of State policies and procedures
- Performing all responsibilities of the Accounts Receivable Unit
- Communicating with multiple agencies, employees, and outside vendors
This is a hybrid position allowing for three remote workdays per week after initial training. The office is located at 120 State St., Montpelier.
About the Role
The position requires a combination of education and experience, including:
- Two years or more of full-time college coursework in accounting, business administration, office administration or a related field
- One year or more of experience in accounting, bookkeeping or technical level fiscal experience
- A minimum of two years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping or technical level fiscal experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent with three years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping or technical level fiscal experience
- One year of experience as a Financial Specialist II with the State of Vermont
Experience with VISION (the State's Oracle-based Accounting System) is preferred but not required. Strong Excel skills are also preferred.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include:
- Associate's degree in accounting, business administration, office administration or a related field
- Completion of a vocational/technical training program in business, office administration, financial support or related area
- High school diploma or equivalent with three years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping or technical level fiscal experience
Special requirements include experience with VISION and strong Excel skills.
