About the role
The Department of Financial Administration is responsible for the fiscal integrity of the University of Wisconsin System. This position involves processing a wide range of accounting transactions and providing administrative support to the Office of Financial Administration.
Responsibilities
- Processing capital project expenditures for all UW campuses except UW-Madison
- Vendor payments
- Preparation of systemwide billings
- Cost transfers
- Maintenance of accounts receivable records
- Contact for all UWSA support staff regarding transaction processing issues
- Training on the use of the Workday Accounting information system
- Assistance in processing accounting transactions
- Creation of reports for departments and leadership
Requirements
- Associate degree in business administration, finance, accounting or related field, or 3-5 years of work experience in a similar role
- Excellent organizational, communication and customer service skills
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Knowledge of University and State of Wisconsin financial, purchasing and budget policies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and learn and pursue process improvements
Qualifications
- Associate degree in business administration, finance, accounting or related field, or 3-5 years of work experience in a similar role
