Financial Services - Customer Tax Operations and Reporting - Tax Manager
About the role
The opportunity is to join the Business Tax Advisory practice within EY's Financial Services Organization (FSO). This practice focuses on US tax information reporting & withholding matters, particularly in the financial services, banking, insurance, and multinational sectors. Engagements include FATCA, cost basis reporting, and CRS.
Responsibilities
- Interpret IRS Code and Regulations
- Write policy and procedure documents
- Conduct gap analyses and write business requirements
- Prepare documentation including presentations and flow charts
- Perform technical analysis and process improvements
- Respond to client requests for proposals
- Support the development of innovative technology solutions
- Train and manage staff in remote delivery centers
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant tax consulting or tax operational experience
- A license as a licensed attorney or CPA
Qualifications
- A J.D., LL.M. in Taxation, or MST preferred
- A demonstrated interest in tax information reporting and withholding work in Chapter 3, Chapter 4, and Chapter 61
Skills and Attributes

Pay
The base salary range for this role in all geographic locations in the US is $128,400 to $235,300. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento) is $154,000 to $267,400. Individual salaries within these ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
Schedule
Most people in external, client-serving roles are expected to work together in person 60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project, or year.
