About the role
The Business Tax Advisory practice at EY offers opportunities to focus on US tax information reporting & withholding matters. You will work in a group environment on challenging information reporting and withholding engagements across all financial services sectors.
Responsibilities
- Interpret IRS Code and Regulations
- Draft guidance
- Data analysis and requirements development
- Conduct gap analysis of clients' policies, procedures and systems
- Write business requirements
- Prepare documentation including presentations and flow charts
- Technical analysis, process improvement
- Respond to requests for proposals from clients
- Support the development of innovative technology solutions
- Train and manage staff located in remote delivery centers
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
- J.D., LL.M. in Taxation, or Master's in Taxation (MST) preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant tax consulting or tax operational experience
- Licensed attorney or CPA
Qualifications
- Active participation in industry groups such as SIFMA, ABA, IIB
- Demonstrated interest in tax information reporting and withholding work in Chapter 3, Chapter 4 and Chapter 61 or similar experience
Skills and Attributes

Pay
The base salary range for this role in the US is $128,400 to $235,300. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $154,000 to $267,400.
Schedule
Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. You'll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
