Financial Services Consultant- Teller/ Banker (Part Time)

The Financial Services Consultant I creates an enjoyable, memorable, and impactful experience by delivering exceptional member service, building strong financial relationships, and positively impacting members through consultative conversations. This entry-level position is ideal for starting a financial services career.

Responsibilities

• Engage in meaningful consultative conversations to uncover members’ financial needs and recommend products and services that improve their financial well-being.
• Assist members and prospective members with opening or closing deposit products and services.
• Recommend lending products and services; assist with loan applications through video lending or refer to a branch lender.
• Identify and refer investment opportunities to A+ Wealth Management.
• Process financial transactions and service requests, including operating and balancing a cash drawer.
• Assist members with disputes, fraudulent transactions, and account updates (e.g., ownership changes, beneficiary updates, address changes).
• Assist members with Safe Deposit Box entry where applicable.
• Support branch growth and member experience by meeting or exceeding goals.
• Perform or assist with vault teller responsibilities, including balancing, buy/sells, and cash recycler management.
• Assist with ATM loading where applicable.
• Perform daily branch tasks, such as opening/closing duties and preparing outgoing currency shipments.
• Participate in branch meetings, trainings, and assist other branch locations as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of credit union products, services, policies, and procedures.
• Volunteer for business development and community events to represent the A+FCU brand and mission.
• Deepen relationships at community and business development events by recommending A+FCU products and services.
• Adhere to all A+FCU policies, procedures, laws, rules, regulations, and internal controls.
• Complete required regulatory training as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Six months of work experience (personal banker, sales, and/or teller experience preferred).
• Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy, compassion, and understanding of others.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on assigned tasks.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility to adapt to change.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Basic math and computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite knowledge preferred.
• Ability to travel between branch locations (at least 25% of the time for floater roles; at least 5% for non-floater roles).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Must have the stamina to work at least 28 hours per week (part-time).
• Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, carrying, and data entry.
• Ability to engage in problem-solving to resolve member issues.
• Extensive communication through in-person, email, written, and telephone interactions.

Decision-Making

Supervisory approval is required for exceptions outside of role limits, legal questions, and situations outside A+FCU policies and procedures.
