About the role

The Financial Service Representative II identifies members’ financial needs and recommends appropriate solutions, while assisting members with financial transactions involving cash and other negotiable monetary instruments.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a commitment to PrimeWay’s culture by adhering to the G-VAL-HI promise, contributing to team success, and living by the core values that define the CARING culture.
- Greet members with a friendly, welcoming smile as they enter the building.
- Receive and process member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and merchandise sales.
- Perform daily member services, such as opening and closing accounts and conducting account research.
- Update member information and records as requested according to standard operating procedures.
- Complete requests for special services, such as statement copies, check copies, stop payment orders, and debit cards.
- Identify, record, and report fraudulent activity to prevent potential losses.
- Observe PrimeWay guidelines, policies, and procedures to adhere to compliance, regulations, and security standards.
- Demonstrate functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act and other Federal laws, including the U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act.
- Establish positive and productive working relationships at all levels within the organization.
- Review account profiles during teller transactions to suggest appropriate PrimeWay products and services.
- Build member relationships to ensure usage of PrimeWay FCU as their primary financial institution.
- Facilitate discussions with members to uncover needs beyond those initially presented.
- Evaluate credit reports to present members with appropriate PrimeWay products and services.
- Make outbound phone calls to existing members.
- Originate and close consumer loans in a timely manner by guiding the member through the process and setting proper expectations from application to funding.
- Demonstrate accountability for personal contributions toward all personal, team, and organizational goals in loans, GAP, extended warranties, debt protection, deposits, and service.
- Submit business partner referrals when appropriate.
- Maintain an expert level of product knowledge.
- Identify and originate real estate loans and referrals.
- Open and maintain IRA accounts with accuracy.
- Collect and present data to the team regarding progress toward goals.
Requirements
- High school education or GED.
- 6 months – 2 years of relevant experience.
- 2 years of credit union or banking experience.
Skills
- Ability to maintain diplomacy, trust, courtesy, and tact.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to use applicable computer software.
- Ability to motivate or influence others.
ADA Requirements
- Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 5 lbs.
- Capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situations.
- Able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator.
- Able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day.
- Able to work extended hours when required or requested by management.
- Capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
Benefits
This position is eligible for a $750.00 sign-on bonus, payable after the successful completion of 30 days of employment. The employee must be actively employed and in good standing at the time of payment.
