Financial Reporting Analyst – Broker-Dealer Finance

Primary Responsibilities

• General Ledger and Accounting: Maintain and enhance accounting processes within QuickBooks; prepare and post journal entries with appropriate documentation; assist with financial‑close processes and account reconciliations; review the general ledger for consistency and accuracy; develop and maintain the chart of accounts and financial‑reporting structure.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules; conduct comparative and variance analyses; develop management‑reporting packages and financial dashboards; assist with cash‑flow analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Broker‑Dealer Regulatory Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of FOCUS Reports and related schedules; maintain mappings between the general ledger and FOCUS reporting lines; prepare account‑level tie‑outs and supporting workpapers for net capital computation; assist with regulatory‑financial schedules and filings.
• Process Enhancement and Internalization: Transition accounting and reporting processes from third‑party providers; develop written procedures, process maps, and recurring close checklists; identify opportunities to automate or simplify processes; strengthen controls surrounding journal entries and financial reporting.
• Audit and Regulatory Support: Assist in responding to information requests from auditors and regulators; prepare financial schedules and supporting documentation; maintain organized records supporting financial statements and reports.

Qualifications

• One to four years of experience in accounting, financial‑reporting, audit, or financial analysis.
• Hands‑on proficiency with QuickBooks (strongly preferred).
• Experience with general‑ledger closes and preparing account reconciliations.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience in the financial‑services industry (strongly preferred).
• Broker‑dealer accounting or regulatory financial‑reporting experience (highly desirable).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred); relevant experience may be considered in lieu of some educational requirements.
