Financial Operations Manager

About the Role

Mister Sparky is seeking an analytical, results-driven Financial Operations Manager to oversee financial strategy, streamline accounting workflows, and support scalable growth across our electrical services business. This role bridges accounting oversight and daily field operations, ensuring healthy cash flow, precise job costing, accurate financial reporting, and sustainable profitability.

Responsibilities

• Financial Oversight & Reporting: Manage day-to-day accounting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and monthly closing procedures; prepare accurate P&L statements, cash flow projections, and executive dashboards.
• Job Costing & Margin Analysis: Track and evaluate labor costs, material expenses, inventory, and technician productivity to optimize pricing strategy and increase gross margins.
• Operational Workflow Optimization: Manage and audit financial data flows between field management systems (e.g., ServiceTitan) and accounting software (e.g., SAGE Intact, QuickBooks).
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Partner with business leadership to establish annual budgets, track variances, monitor working capital, and plan for fleet, property, and team expansion.
• Compliance & Internal Controls: Enforce internal financial safeguards, ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and coordinate tax preparation with external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3 to 5+ years of financial management experience, preferably within residential home services, trade contracting, or multi-unit businesses.
• High proficiency with SAGE Intact, QuickBooks, advanced Excel, and field management platforms (e.g., ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro).
• Demonstrated expertise in job costing, inventory control, and operational cash flow management.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Pay

$40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
