Key Responsibilities
- Develop financial analyses that explain changes in labor expense, profitability, and operational performance while identifying the underlying business drivers.
- Analyze doctor compensation models and labor trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Present analytical findings and recommendations to business leaders in a clear and actionable manner.
- Collaborate with Payroll, Finance, Operations, and Clinical Leadership to solve complex business problems through data.
- Design and develop new KPIs, analyses, and reporting that improve how CareVet measures and manages the business.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing processes, reporting, and decision-making through data-driven recommendations.
- Reconcile doctor compensation and payroll to monthly financial results while investigating and resolving variances.
- Partner with Finance to support the annual budgeting process and ongoing labor forecasting.
- Support strategic initiatives by providing thoughtful analysis and uncovering insights that drive business performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in financial analysis, business analytics, operations analytics, workforce analytics, or a related analytical role.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate complex business questions.
- Ability to analyze complex datasets, identify key business drivers, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, adapt to changing business needs, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects, work independently, and drive initiatives from concept through implementation.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
- Likely located in the greater St. Louis area.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Power BI and Power Query.
- Experience writing SQL queries.
- Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, or compensation analysis.
- Experience partnering with Finance, Payroll, or Operations teams.
- Experience performing operational or financial performance analysis.
- Experience developing financial models or performing variance analysis.
