About the role
We are seeking an experienced Optometric Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support optometrists in providing exceptional patient care and ensure smooth daily operations of the optical practice.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and prepare them for eye examinations
- Perform preliminary vision tests and measurements
- Assist the optometrist during patient examinations
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow
- Maintain and clean ophthalmic equipment
- Assist patients with frame selection and fitting
- Process insurance claims and handle billing inquiries
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) credential preferred
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in an optometric or ophthalmic setting
- Proficiency with electronic health records and practice management software
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
