Financial Manager I (DFCM)

About the role

The Department of Government Operations is seeking a Financial Manager I to support the Division of Facilities Construction & Management. This position offers a hybrid work schedule and is located at the State Office Building in Taylorsville.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex reviews of financial transactions and programs to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations
• Generate, analyze, and present fiscal budget forecasts
• Resolve difficult and unusual accounting problems and ensure adaptations and corrections as necessary
• Reconcile construction projects between the AIM and Vantage systems

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or a related field or equivalent experience
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data connections)
• Learns and adapts quickly
• Experience with budgeting and forecasting
• 2 years professional financial, accounting, or auditing experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Vantage - the State of Utah's accounting system
• Experience writing VBA macros
• Experience with construction accounting
• CPA license or completed Master's degree in accounting or a related field
