Financial Manager I (DFCM)
About the role
The Department of Government Operations is seeking a Financial Manager I to support the Division of Facilities Construction & Management. This position offers a hybrid work schedule and is located at the State Office Building in Taylorsville.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex reviews of financial transactions and programs to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations
- Generate, analyze, and present fiscal budget forecasts
- Resolve difficult and unusual accounting problems and ensure adaptations and corrections as necessary
- Reconcile construction projects between the AIM and Vantage systems
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or a related field or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data connections)
- Learns and adapts quickly
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting
- 2 years professional financial, accounting, or auditing experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Vantage - the State of Utah's accounting system
- Experience writing VBA macros
- Experience with construction accounting
- CPA license or completed Master's degree in accounting or a related field
