Financial Management

The Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) is a Department of War (DoW) organization focused exclusively on accelerating the adoption of commercial technology throughout the military and growing the national security innovation base. As the Department’s gateway to leading technology companies across the country, DIU is focused on rapid prototyping, fielding, and scaling of commercial solutions that can save lives, lead to new operational concepts, increase efficiency, and save taxpayer dollars.

Requirements

• Supports formulation and execution of the DIU budget and funds from other agencies and activities utilizing DIU contracts and program management processes.
• Works with Program Management and Contracts to ensure alignment of resources with contract and program milestones.
• Analyzes program and/or acquisition data through qualitative and quantitative techniques, identifies and evaluates options to solve program budget issues, certifies funding availability, provides regulatory and procedural guidance, and provides overall financial management support to the DIU offices.
