FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST (DATA ANALYTICS).
About the role
Makes recommendations on best practices to improve predictive analytics, data sampling, data warehousing processes, and other uses of advanced analytics and information technology. Identifies trends, correlations, and causations within large datasets to provide a synopsis of emerging trends, challenges, and recommendations for change. Develops and implements dynamic data visualizations and interactive reporting to provide meaningful insight from the data (such as dashboards, scorecards, and graphs). Utilizes expert knowledge of finance and accounting processes, regulations, and systems to assess and improve upon the reliability, usability, and relevance of the data housed in DFAS systems. Coordinates metrics and other financial issues with executive management, OUSD management, DFAS Internal Review, Strategic Business Management, and the audit community.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Registered for Selective Service (males born after 12-31-1959)
- Suitable for Federal employment
- Obtain/Maintain Financial Management Certification
- New employees to the Defense Finance and Accounting Service will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
Qualifications
- Applicants must have related financial experience AND/OR a related financial degree (examples include: Finance, Accounting, Management, Actuarial Science, or related), in addition to meeting Office of Personnel Management (OPM) minimum qualification requirements
- One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the GS-12 within the federal service is required
- Specialized experience is defined as: Collecting, measuring, analyzing, and reporting financial management data; developing and implementing dynamic data visualizations and interactive reporting; identifying areas for new content based on the needs of the organization
Volunteer experience may qualify and will be considered alongside paid experience.
