Responsibilities
- Obtain and maintain requisite system access to perform duties, including PI&E modules, ADVANA/FASTR, ART/SVT, and TMT.
- Apply Federal, DoW, and Air Force laws, regulations, and policies to understand and evaluate Air Force business processes.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and generally accepted auditing standards through financial management, logistics, and acquisition functions.
- Develop, document, and manage Corrective Action Plans in response to audit findings and deficiencies.
- Define milestones, assign responsibilities, and track progress towards completing Corrective Action Plans.
- Develop and maintain KPIs to track FIAR compliance efforts.
- Provide regular status reports and briefings to government leadership on FIAR metrics, highlighting trends, risks, and successes.
- Analyze existing business processes and internal controls to recommend improvements.
- Document process flows and control points.
- Conduct analysis to determine the effectiveness of operations, compliance with policies, reliability of transactions, and validity of supporting documentation.
- Identify, track, and support the remediation of FIAR roadblocks, risks, and deficiencies, including materiality analysis and linking to audit-identified material weaknesses and significant deficiencies.
- Perform and document Root Cause Analyses for identified deficiencies or NFRs.
- Leverage technology to digitize FIAR infrastructure, support, and knowledge tools, including robotic process automation, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
- Assist with PBC/sample research and response coordination, particularly during audit fieldwork.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and design data models for meaningful insights using Power BI or other software.
- Facilitate and participate in cross-functional IPTs to ensure unified FIAR compliance approaches.
- Monitor, track, follow-up, elevate, and troubleshoot ART, SVT, and TMT items, ensuring appropriate coordination and timely resolution with system owners and help desks.
- Assist in creating and providing FIAR training sessions and materials to increase knowledge and awareness across the center.
- Assist with strategic communications, including briefing slide preparation, MS Teams channel management, and disseminating FIAR-related information.
Requirements
- Clearance: Secret
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- Three years of relevant experience with USAF accounting/finance and/or DFAS operations, including direct familiarity with financial audit engagement procedures
