About the role
Seeking a Patient Financial Counselor to assist patients with financial concerns, coverage options, and payment plans.
Responsibilities
- Screen patients for insurance eligibility and financial assistance opportunities
- Counsel patients on financial responsibilities and available assistance programs
- Assess and offer financial aid before patient discharge
- Collaborate with departments on financial options and billing processes
- Record statistics and maximize revenue collection
- Minimize bad debt through workflow and technology use
- Maintain a safe, compliant environment
- Perform additional duties as needed
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or higher
- At least 2 years of customer service experience in healthcare or related fields
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel locally and work flexible hours, including one Saturday per month
- Must be 18 or older
Preferred Skills
- Associate’s Degree in healthcare, finance, or related field
- Experience with electronic medical records and medical terminology
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments and support patient-centered care
