Essential Functions
- Researches, collects, and analyzes information
- Identifies opportunities, develops solutions, and leads through resolution
- Collaborates on performance improvement activities as indicated by outcomes in program efficiency & patient experience
- Distributes analytical reports
- Utilizes multiple system applications to perform analysis, create reports, and develop educational materials
- Incorporates basic knowledge of TH policies, practices, and processes to ensure quality, confidentiality, and safety are prioritized
- Demonstrates knowledge of departmental processes and procedures and ability to readily acquire new knowledge
Data Management & Analysis
- Researches and compiles information to support ad-hoc operational projects & initiatives
- Synthesizes and analyzes data and provides detailed summaries including graphical data presentations illustrating trends & recommends practical options or solutions while considering the impact on business strategy & supporting leadership decision making
- Leverages program & operational data & measurements to define & demonstrate progress, ROI & impacts
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum two (2) to three (3) years experience working in Patient Access or Patient Accounting for hospital
- National certification in HFMA CRCR and/or NAHAM CHAA required within one (1) year of hire
- Understanding of basic billing and coding
Additional Qualifications (nice to have)
- Epic experience preferred
- Knowledge of federal or state government agencies including but not limited to Medicare, Medicaid, VA or Charity Care programs, or patient management and healthcare accounts receivable within the healthcare revenue cycle
- Registration and / or hospital reimbursement services
Physical And Mental Requirements And Working Conditions
- Operates in a typical office environment
- Area is well lit, temperature controlled, and free from hazards
- Communicates frequently, in person and over the phone, with people in all locations on support issues
- Manual dexterity needed in order to operate a keyboard, repetitive actions, fine manipulations, and simple grasping
- Speech and hearing needed for extensive telephone and in person communication
- Able to see at near visual acuity
- Subject to eyestrain due to the many hours spent looking at a CRT screen
- Noise level is low to moderate
- Must be able to set and organize own work priorities and adapt to them as they change frequently
- Must be able to work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects in an environment that may be stressful with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles
- Must be able to work throughout the day
- Lifts/carrying approximately 15 pounds and / or pushes patients in wheelchair up to 440 pounds
- Must possess the ability to comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures
