Key Responsibilities
- Pull daily census, whether inpatient or outpatient
- Verify insurance benefits verification and document on the account
- Utilize online tools and payer websites for pricing and contracts
- Verify that all pre-certifications have been done with the insurance
- Work directly with case management
- Review benefits and payment/deductible/copay with the patient
- Offer charity application as needed
- Collect money and/or secure payment via phone or in person
- Set up payment plans and provide receipt
- Acquire patient signatures on forms for Medicare: IMMs and MOONs and scan into electronic record
- Resolve billing issues for online inquiries, walk-ins, and call-in patients
- Escalate settlement offer, complaints, and unresolvable issues to leadership
