Financial Counselor II

Key Responsibilities

• Pull daily census, whether inpatient or outpatient
• Verify insurance benefits verification and document on the account
• Utilize online tools and payer websites for pricing and contracts
• Verify that all pre-certifications have been done with the insurance
• Work directly with case management
• Review benefits and payment/deductible/copay with the patient
• Offer charity application as needed
• Collect money and/or secure payment via phone or in person
• Set up payment plans and provide receipt
• Acquire patient signatures on forms for Medicare: IMMs and MOONs and scan into electronic record
• Resolve billing issues for online inquiries, walk-ins, and call-in patients
• Escalate settlement offer, complaints, and unresolvable issues to leadership
