About the Hospital

Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital – Arlington is a 38-bed specialized facility in the DFW Metroplex, the only one of its kind in the region. Responsibilities

• Provide financial counseling for estimated patient responsibility on surgical patients.
• Review patient files and verify insurance benefits.
• Process financial assistance applications.
• Determine funds to collect upon admission and establish suitable payment arrangements according to policy.
• Notify patients of monies due and document in the PAS system.
• Notate PAS system with benefits and financial information.
• Maintain positive relationships with other personnel.
• Review authorization requirements and ensure all authorizations are complete prior to services being rendered.
• Answer incoming patient calls.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor and Business Office Manager.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• Proficiency in Excel and data entry management.
• Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions.
• Ability to handle problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Strong understanding of confidentiality requirements.
• Experience utilizing Electronic Health Care Record systems for patient documentation.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes.
• Complete understanding of insurance primacy rules.
