Financial Counselor

Responsibilities

• Participates in the admission process by responding to inquiries regarding the facility, insurance verification, financial counseling, patient admission, and data entry of all demographic information.
• Reviews, analyzes, and facilitates self-pay collection efforts.

Essential Job Functions

• Performs insurance verifications.
• Provides adequate financial counseling to parents/guardians relating to self-pay and/or co-pay of account balances.
• Data entry
• Demonstrates an ability to communicate effectively and express ideas clearly; actively listens, follows appropriate channels of communication.
• Maintains and ensures patient confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma/Equivalent: Associates Degree in Financial/Accounting Field preferred
• Experience: One year of experience preferred
