About the role
The Financial Coordinator is responsible for managing the end-to-end client invoicing process, including monitoring the collection of outstanding Accounts Receivable (AR) and applying cash to correct invoices. This role drives consistency, accuracy, timely delivery, and payment of client invoices with the goal of decreasing Days Receivable Outstanding (DRO) while improving client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end billing process, including distributing billing reports to client teams, preparing client invoices, processing planned and unplanned investments, and resolving remaining Work in Progress (WIP).
- Ensure proficiency in client onboarding, including accurate setup, renewal, and validation of billing/project codes.
- Liaise with stakeholders to ensure proper documentation is attached to each code and planned investments are set up at the onset of a project.
- Maintain an internal database tracking monthly charges, client invoices, third-party or vendor invoices, project budgets, investments, and reconciliation of charges vs. project budget.
- Ensure timely collection of outstanding invoices; coordinate efforts between account teams and client teams to process invoices by due dates to improve DRO and minimize fee adjustments.
- Research issues, missing data, and request updates as needed.
- Identify and develop relationships with internal client contacts and external client Accounts Payable (AP) contacts to facilitate more effective collections and timely payment of invoices.
Requirements
- Up to 2 years of proven experience in client invoicing or a similar role.
- Ability to accurately and effectively execute on invoicing instructions from client teams.
- Strong understanding of financial processes and billing principles.
- Proficiency in using billing systems and other Mercer tools and resources to complete tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to organize across several client accounts.

Pay
The applicable base salary range for this role is $56,200 to $112,300. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

Schedule
This role follows a hybrid work model, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections, and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.
