Financial Controller

About the role

An explosive DTC supplement brand has grown from $10M to $17M monthly revenue in the past year and is looking for a finance leader to build—not maintain—the function from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to shape reporting, own the full accounting cycle, and gain direct exposure to founders in a fully remote, full-time role aligned with EST working hours.

You’ll have full ownership of the finance function, real input into how the business tracks and reports its numbers, direct access to the founders, and a clear path to CFO.

Responsibilities

• Own the full accounting cycle, including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Build and maintain the monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement, working toward weekly and eventually daily reporting
• Run margin analysis by SKU, offer, and channel to give leadership real visibility into profitability
• Manage 13-week cash flow forecasting and day-to-day cash management
• Reconcile inventory, COGS, and payment processors including Adyen, Stripe, PayPal, and Shopify Payments
• Oversee accounts payable, review invoices for accuracy, and coordinate sales tax filings and compliance
• Build channel-level P&Ls across DTC, Amazon, and TikTok Shop
• Manage and direct the virtual assistant supporting AP and reporting
• Work directly with the founders on a daily basis, taking over responsibilities currently split across outsourced bookkeeping and fractional CFO support

Requirements

• 4+ years of accounting or controller experience, ideally within DTC, CPG, or eCommerce
• Deep knowledge of GAAP and inventory accounting
• Experience with companies doing $50M+ in annual revenue
• Proven ability to own the full accounting cycle solo: close, reconciliations, and reporting, without a team carrying the load
• Fluent in Excel, Google Sheets, QuickBooks, and Ramp or similar tools
• Ability to build a P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement from scratch, on your own
• Experience with US-based companies and comfort operating on EST hours
• Comfortable operating hands-on in a flat, fast-moving, founder-led environment
