Financial Controller
About the role
You'll own the accounting and financial reporting foundation that helps Mintlify scale from its current stage toward $50M+ ARR. This role sits at the center of our finance function, bridging our outsourced accounting partner, operational finance processes, and executive-level planning and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Manage month-end close end-to-end and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting
- Lead payroll, sales commissions, bill payments, expense reviews, and approval workflows
- Oversee accounts receivable, collections, and DSO improvement across Mintlify and Helicone
- Manage revenue recognition and billing reconciliation across usage-based, credit-based, and multi-year contracts
- Oversee federal and state tax compliance, filings, and the implementation of compliance tooling
- Build standalone financial reporting, intercompany accounting, and billing infrastructure for Helicone
- Build internal controls, improve accounting processes, and prepare the business for future audit readiness
- Produce reliable metrics and reporting that leadership, investors, and the board can trust
Requirements
5+ years of progressive accounting, controllership, or finance experience within SaaS or technology companies
Deep expertise in full-cycle accounting, month-end close ownership, financial reporting, and GAAP
Strong understanding of SaaS revenue recognition, including usage-based billing, credits, overages, and recurring revenue models
Familiarity with SaaS metrics such as ARR, NRR, GRR, run-rate revenue, and DSO
Proven ability to manage external accounting partners while maintaining ownership and accountability for outcomes
Experience building and scaling finance processes in fast-growing environments

The ability to independently prioritize, identify issues early, and drive execution without heavy direction
Comfortable reconciling complex billing data, improving controls, partnering with stakeholders across the business, and rolling up your sleeves when needed
Skills
